Saturday 7th May, organised by the MJC of Puivert, the traditional “Spring Party” took place at the lake.
This edition was exceptional in many ways.
First of all, we welcomed 42 exhibitors for the garage sale, which is remarkable … and new this year, we also welcomed 26 craftsmen for a high quality market
The parents’ association of the Puivert / Nébias schools had a stand selling plants and flowers and served savoury meals.
The service of the LAEP (Place d’Accueil Enfants Parents) le Tapis à Pois, a service for children under 4 years old accompanied by one or more parents and future parents, offered a little corner during our festival for the little ones accompanied by their parents
A free stand was held where everyone had the opportunity to Recover objects for free to give them a second life and to Donate things they no longer needed but which could still be useful to others, and all this in a totally free way
The MJC had a refreshment stand all day with chips, pancakes and hot and cold drinks.
An open stage saw the participation of several music groups and solo artists, which was very pleasant and joyful, and the Puivert choir offered a short 45-minute concert to a delighted and relaxed audience.
And the “Spring Party” of Puivert would not be what it is without the traditional and wonderful “Spring Pole”. A dance around a 12-metre high pole, planted in the ground, where the participants weave coloured ribbons around the pole, to folk music. This Celtic tradition is a symbol of abundance, good harvests and fertility to start the spring sowing season.
Joy of living, big smiles and happiness to be there … that was the programme of this event.
At 6pm a large number of people were still present …. the exhibitors were delighted, including on an economic level.
We can say that this day was a real success.
We will all meet again next year, no doubt about it!
